George 'The ICEMAN' Gervin

Concept Poster in collaboration with Sean Henry -www.seanhenryart.com

Words from Chad Trutt http://chadtrutt.com/
I've always like to watch George Gervin do his patented finger-roll. He makes it seems so effortless the way the ball rolls off his fingers tips. I asked one of my inner circle friends, Sean Henry, if he would like to collaborate on this piece. Sean drew out the picture of Gervin and sent it to me. I vectorized it and created the background with suggestions from Sean. We chose the background and the ball to represent cold and ice. Gervin was call 'The ICEMAN' because of his cool demeanor on the court.

Here are the sketches and concepts that lead up to our final design

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...

15 years ago today, Raekwon released the CLASSIC Hip-Hop, Only Built For Cuban Linx. I was born in 85, so my first Wu-Tang Album I ever listened to was Wu-Tang Forever in 1997, which was their second LP. Since I heard Wu-Tang Forever, Ive been a big fan of Wu-Tang Clan. So after I heard Forever, the next Wu album I bought was Only Built For Cuban Linx. Cuban Linx came out before Forever, so I was going backwards in the Wu-Discography. I was 12 when I heard Forever! Cut me some slack! Anyway, Ive heard singles and seen videos from the album like "Ice Cream" "Incarcerated Scarfaces" "Rainy Dayz" but I never heard the complete album. But once I bought it, I knew why it had all the hype around it. Dope lyrics from Raekwon, Ghostface, Method Man, Cappadonna, Nas, Inspectah Deck, Gza, Rza, Masta Killa, and U-God. Rza behind the beats. Instant Classic. I know its weird to hear the second group album, then go backwards in the discography, but that just how things worked. So Raekwon and the Wu, Thank you for the CLASSIC music. "Ice Cream" still remains my favorite Summer Time Anthem to this day. No disrespect to Will Smith.
